About the Therapist
Hi, I'm Sarah, owner and therapist at Flying Sparrow. I started out in psychology research, but my work with children and families led me toward social work. After graduating from the University of Montana, I chose to continue that path by earning my graduate degree in social work from the University of Denver.
I’ve spent the past decade working in the social work field, including seven years in private practice therapy. I was also diagnosed with ADHD later in life which has shaped how I understand myself and informs my work with clients.

Therapeutic Approach
I believe there’s real value in having a space where you can show up and talk about whatever is on your mind. At the same time, my approach to therapy is grounded in evidence-based modalities, including CBT, ACT, DBT, and SFBT, with an emphasis on mindfulness and nervous system regulation. I’m always happy to answer questions about what these approaches look like in practice.
Most importantly, I see therapy as a place where you can be yourself, feel heard, and also be challenged to grow. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming and neurodiversity-affirming, and I strive to create a space that honors your identities, strengths, and lived experience. As a social worker, I am also aware of the broader systems that impact mental health and wellbeing, and we can explore those influences together as part of your work.
Finding the Right Fit
I work with children, teens, and adults, with a focus on neurodivergence, particularly ADHD and autism. Whether you have a diagnosis or are simply wanting to know more about yourself, I want to provide a space where you can feel understood.
My practice incorporates psychoeducation, executive functioning support, and practical insights to help you build a life that feels sustainable and aligned with who you are. I’m also a good fit for those navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or the ongoing stress of living in today’s world.
Therapy is for anyone ready to invest in self-awareness and create meaningful change.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long will I be in therapy?
The length of treatment depends on your unique goals. Some clients achieve their initial objectives in a few months, while others find long-term support valuable for continued growth. We will check in regularly on your progress.
What is the cost?
My rate is $165 per 50-55 minute session, and offer sliding-scale rates as well. While I am out-of-network with insurance providers at this time, I can provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. I strive to make therapy accessible and manageable, so please feel free to reach out with any questions.
How often will we meet for therapy?
Most often, we’ll meet once a week. At times, we may decide together that more frequent sessions would be helpful if you’re needing extra support.
